Search for Senior Vice President for Advancement

About the Role
Virginia Tech seeks a dynamic and visionary candidates who will provide strategic leadership that builds on the land-grant university's record of outstanding performance and achievement. S/he will be a seasoned professional with a proven track record of success in managing high-performing teams, cultivating strong relationships with a diverse set of constituencies, and securing significant philanthropic support.
Reporting to the President, the Senior Vice President for Advancement at Virginia Tech will work with the Board of Visitors and university leadership to advance institutional priorities, enhance philanthropic engagement, and build deep, impactful relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
As a CASE 50-designated organization, the university’s aligned and integrated advancement organization comprises development, engagement, and marketing and communications, with dual reporting relationships across academic colleges and other university units.

Julie Ross, the Paul and Dorothea Torgersen Dean of Engineering, leads the search committee, whose members are:

The search committee will be supported by a staff that includes Lisa Wilkes, vice president for strategic initiatives and special assistant to the president, and Eleanor Webster, deputy to the vice president for strategic initiatives and special assistant to the president.
